About
Meet ALICE
ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) workers navigate hardships daily, facing tough decisions like choosing between affordable child care and housing close to work. This means ALICE workers may lack adequate savings, rely on unpredictable public transportation schedules, and contend with long commutes. All these factors may impact a worker’s effectiveness as an employee.
What is ALICE@Work?
But it doesn’t have to be this way …
Imagine a world where hardworking ALICE workers who struggle to make ends meet every day can afford the basics.
We believe that businesses have the power to create profound change in their communities. United For ALICE@Work offers a unique opportunity to invest in ALICE and forge new partnerships in the community. ALICE@Work helps businesses deepen their understanding of their employees’ lives and examine internal policies and practices. At its core, the program explores ways to consider new actions that positively impact the workforce, driving overall success and sustainability for the business. Here’s how we do it.
- A company-specific data analysis helps leadership better understand its company's workforce.
- Our robust and interactive 12-hour (six-module) curriculum, delivered live (in person or virtual) by a professional trainer, brings to life the challenges ALICE workers face.
- We guide participants in building an action plan that inspires sustainable and meaningful change.
- Together, we cultivate communities of supportive champions who develop innovative workforce strategies and solutions.
- Participants who successfully complete the course receive 12 SHRM Professional Development credits.
